Frequently Asked Questions

At Gravel Cycling Tours, we design and organize self-guided tours on gravel bikes all around Europe. These adventurous expeditions often transition freely from trails to off-road, and have a focus on free exploration and finding your own path – the joy is in the journey. If you’re interested in a cycling tour that’s a bit more rugged and interesting, look no further than this exciting new sport.

We design most of the tours, in cooperation with local experts. We rely on a network of local suppliers who live and work in the areas we visit: hoteliers, bicycle rental shops, tour guides…With our combined expertise, we put together the best tours at very reasonable prices. These companies have all been selected based on their proven records and our shared passion for “authentic” travel.

Gravel bikes are a relatively new style of bike that is rapidly growing in popularity. They combine a road bike’s lightweight frame and drop handlebars with wide all-terrain tires, disk brakes, and robust suspension. The result is a highly versatile machine, agile and responsive everywhere from paved roads to root-tangled dirt paths. It’s a cycling experience you don’t want to miss.

Our tours are designed with gravel bikes’ versatility and feel in mind, but don’t worry if you don’t have one! While you’re free to bring your own gravel bike, we also offer affordable high-quality rentals, allowing you to travel without having to worry about carrying a bike around.

Our tours usually include daily accommodation with breakfast, some or all lunches and dinners (as stated in the tour description), luggage transfers, maps, and itinerary. Please refer to the specific tour for details and an in-depth description.
